2. Don't spread rumors. Maybe you've been hearing rumors that there was going to be a layoff and everyone in your department has to leave next week. If you haven't received your official layoff notice, don't buy into the rumors and don't repeat what you hear. The fact is, you don't know what's happening with your individual position until your employer tells you directly what's happening.
