Computer Scannable Resume

This is the latest technology available in resume writing. More and more medium to large companies are processing resumes by scanning them through their computer systems. Not only does the "computer scannable resume" have to be easy for the computer to read, but it has to look great for the human who sees it later. The computer scannable resume is noted for:

  • Its plain appearance i.e., no bold typefaces, italics, and/or underlining.
  • Closely matching you with specific jobs needed by employers.
  • Saving employers time and money by quickly finding matches.
  • Identifying and cataloging your special skills and abilities.

If you're considering sending a computer scannable resume, call the potential employer to find out if they do scan resumes. Since these resumes are written a little differently than "regular" resumes, you'll save yourself some time and embarrassment by sending the correctly styled resume.
