Kathy Bernard
Our Career Doctors

Kathy Bernard is the author of the Get a Job! Tips blog, which focuses on providing practical tips to help job seekers find work. She also leads workshops and meets job seekers for one-on-one Career Launch Lunches so they can pick her brain over fast food. Based in St. Louis, Mo., Kathy is a corporate communicator who has racked up 27 awards for communications excellence.

During a brief period of unemployment in 2009, she noticed that nearly all communications positions sought someone with blogging and social media marketing experience, two areas in which she was not yet proficient. To gain the needed skills and to fulfill her lifelong passion of helping job seekers, she established the Get a Job! Tips for Getting Hired blog (http://getajob-tips-for-getting-hired.blogspot.com/) and began marketing it through LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook.  Eventually she developed a following through social media and began helping job seekers at no cost via LinkedIn inMessages and e-mail. She also leads Get a Job! workshops for a nominal fee and offers St. Louis job seekers a one-on-one Career Launch Lunch for just the price of her fast food meal and theirs.

She invites those who are seeking answers in their job search to connect with her on LinkedIn. (http://www.linkedin.com/in/kathybernardcommunicator).
