How to Tell if Your Potential Boss is the Overlord of the Underworld

(i.e. - Five Signs that a Supervisor may be Difficult to Work with)

It’s hard to turn down a job, especially in today’s economy. In fact, saying that you declined a job offer in some circles could result in excommunication or relentless ridicule. However, there are times as a job seeker when saying, “Thanks, but no thanks”, is a very appropriate response to a job offer.

One such instance of declining an offer is when your potential boss is the "Overlord of the Underworld". Unless you’re applying to some very “unique” boutiques, your potential boss won’t actually be Satan. However, a condescending, gossiping, indifferent, slave-driving boss can make even the most fantastic job opportunity a living hell.  It’s important to consider the personality and observed behaviors of your potential boss during the selection and interview process, especially if the job to which you’re applying will require you to move a significant distance.
