Land a Job

Written By Robert Shindell

The other day I received and email from a visitor to ILostMyJob.com and I am sure it is the same questions that many people are struggling with, so I decided to share it with you.

The question that this visitor had was:

"I was recently terminated from my job and the reason was not my fault.  How do I address this during an interview if asked why I left my last position?"

Here at ILostMyJob.com's CareerDoctor, we love receiving questions from visitors like you.  Every question that is submitted is answered personally.  So if you have a question... email it to me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Thank you for these tips and the guidance. They hit home with my situation and I need to have a practiced, brief, honest answer for future interviewers. The truth is that I can contribute to another company's success, I have learned from this and many other of my working life's lessons, and I need to confidently convey that in every interview opportunity I tackle.

I enjoyed reading this article. I have had more than one client lose their confidence over being terminated. This will definitely help them overcome this obstacle and make them shine during the interview. smilies/smiley.gif This is some sound advice that I would love to share with my followers!

In case it doesn't work out, another opportunity for an interview will most certainly present itself with a good resume and cover letter (and if you need help in that department, we can help make it happen!).

Keep up the terrific work!
