The National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA)

Website: http://www.nela.org

Not all job loss can be directly attributed to the economy. In some cases, job loss can be tied to something that your employer has done that is against the law. The National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) advances employee rights and serves lawyers who advocate for equality and justice in the American workplace.

NELA is the country's largest professional organization that is exclusively comprised of lawyers who represent individual employees in cases involving employment discrimination and other employment-related matters.

NELA and its 68 state and local affiliates have more than 3000 members.

If you feel that your job loss may be a result of discrimination or another employment law related matter, please contact NELA.

Ive recently been forced to resign my position with my employer because of an ongoing medical condition.Although I have tryed many times to return to work and perform my duties in the job they provide,Im unable to because of my restrictions.Their only offer to me or they say the only thing they can do for me is to place me on short term disability and FMLA until they run out.Is there a chance that since I resigned my position that I may be eligible for unemployment compensation? They say they are unable to accomodate me in any way.And their offer of short term disability will not allow me to even come close to keep up with the pace of my financial situation. Its frustrating because Ive been a dedicated employee to them for 8 and 1/2 years and now I cant seem to get any help at all..
